Sassy goes to school  - Water Safety Talks

Pool Director, Al Gooch and Swim Team Mascot Sassy inform the students about swimming in a supervised area.

Over the last few weeks staff members from the Charlevoix Area Community Pool have presented Water Safety talks to area schools.  Staff members have visited Charlevoix Elementary, Charlevoix Middle and Lincoln Elementary (Petoskey).

The Water Safety talks focused on; Swimming in a Supervised Area, How to put on a Lifejacket, The H.E.L.P and Huddle positions and Boating Safety.

The Charlevoix Pool has wireless internet!  

Our Mission

The Charlevoix Area Community Pool provides recreational, fitness, water safety and educational activities for all age groups in the Charlevoix area.

Objectives

• To provide users a safe, professionally supervised, reasonably priced setting for learning to swim.
• To aid development of local and regional water safety programs and rescue services.
• To aid in physical therapy in conjunction with local hospitals.
• To allow physical training and activity for the disabled and handicapped.
• To assist in every possible way, the beneficial expansion of aquatic skills and capabilities in our patrons at a good value.
• To promote a location for young people to experience wholesome recreation and competition.
• To present families with planned and integrated activities.
• To serve as a health and fitness resource for all age groups in the community.
